LESS GUESSWORK. MORE KNOW-HOW.

Give your practice
a sense of direction.

You do not need another endless list to memorise. Learn a topic, understand the tricky parts and decide what to practise next.

Understand, then answer.

Work through questions by topic, search for something specific and save the ones that need another look. Read explanations in practice mode.

GOOD QUESTIONS

A few things to know.

Can I download NZ Learner today?

Not yet. NZ Learner is being tested on Google Play and a public download is not available yet. See the download page for the current status; invited testers should use their existing invitation.

Is this the official NZTA app?

No. NZ Learner is an independent study app, not affiliated with or endorsed by NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) or the New Zealand Government. Its 400 questions are not claimed to be the complete official examination bank. Use the official Road Code alongside your practice.

How many questions are in the real learner theory test?

The Class 1 car theory test has 35 questions; you need 32 correct to pass. Drive describes a 30-minute allowance. Read our test-day guide and official references.

Can I study offline?

The installed app bundles questions, images and translations. An account is required; sign-in, purchases and ads may need connectivity. Read what works offline before relying on it away from internet.

Will progress follow me to a new phone?

No. Progress, bookmarks and daily allowances are local to the installation. Uninstalling or clearing storage can remove them. Pro is restored by signing in with the same Google Play account; learning progress cannot be moved to another phone.

Do I need an account?

Yes. Sign in with email, Google or Facebook to use the app. NZ Learner is for ages 16 and over. Your learning progress stays on your phone; the privacy notice explains what the account is used for.

What does Pro cost?

Pro is planned as a single one-time purchase of NZ$4.99 in New Zealand, not a subscription. It unlocks unlimited mock exams, removes ads, removes the ad gate on scenarios and adds full progress insights. Purchasing is not available yet; Google Play will show the final local price.

How do I get help or delete my account?

Visit support or the account-deletion page. You can request deletion without having the app installed. Never send passwords or purchase tokens.
